On 18 November 2021 1-2.30PM, the London Medical Imaging & AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare will be hosting a public webinar, Trustworthiness in Healthcare AI. Please attend and feel free to circulate to your networks. You can register for this event here.

This online event will be opened and Chaired by Bernadette Cronin, the Chair of the AI Centre Data Allocation Committee and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ AI Board. There will be three speakers who look at ethical AI from an academic, philosophical and legal perspective. The speakers will be followed by a panel discussion.

The event will focus on the theme of trust: how you improve or damage it. There will be guest speakers followed by a panel discussion. Speakers will present on the black box, bias, profiling in medical AI, and data governance. Additional to our speakers, the panel will include members from the AI Centre’s Clinical AI team and a member of the public and will address issues such as explainability and the future of healthcare AI.

About the AI Centre:

Launched in 2019, the AI Centre was established as part of the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. Led by King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, the AI Centre consortium has over 30 partners including 10 NHS Trusts, four universities as well as a range of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and multinational organisations.

Bernadette Cronin

The Chair of the AI Centre Data Allocation Committee and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ AI Board.

Dr Andrew King

Andrew is a Reader in medical imaging analysis focusing on machine learning.

Dr Winnie Ma

Winnie is Lecturer in philosophy at King’s College London and a Research Associate on the Sowerby Philosophy & Medicine Project. Her work focuses on the ethics of belief in medical stereotyping.

Robin Carpenter

Robin is the Senior Governance Manager of the AI Centre and his work focuses on the safe, legal and ethical AI.
