Voces y Trayectorias: In Conversation with Dr Marcelo Kimati Dias

Voces y Trayectorias is an online series of public conversations with people who have played a meaningful role in shaping, implementing, or reflecting on processes of psychiatric deinstitutionalisation (DI) in different parts of the world, with an emphasis on Brazil, Chile and the rest of South America.
About the speaker
Dr Marcelo Kimati Dias is a psychiatrist and public health professor at the Federal University of Paraná, currently serving as Director of the Department of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs at Brazil’s Ministry of Health. With previous experience leading mental health policy at the municipal and federal levels, he has been closely engaged with advancing the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform and expanding community-based care.
