By Professor Catherine Walshe, Lancaster University

Volunteers and palliative care are often seen to go together like motherhood and apple pie – surely they must be good and effective?

This seminar will explore the research evidence on the use, experience and impact of volunteers in palliative care settings. Professor Catherine Walshe will focus on the experience of patients of receiving care from a volunteer, what domains of impact might be expected, and how we can capture this in a robust way.
