The Data Analytics for Finance and Macro (DAFM) Research Centre at King’s Business School is delighted to invite you to a workshop on the theme:
The Rise and Decline of Financial Hubs: A long-run perspective on financial centres and (exogenous) shocks in light of Brexit
Financial Centres play a crucial role in a globalised and networked world. Given the economic importance of these hubs it is essential to ask the question: how do financial centres such as London keep pace with permanent global changes and react effectively to economic and political shocks in the long run?
Two years since the vote for Brexit, this question continues to dominate discussions throughout the financial industry and beyond. This research and policy workshop will look at this question in depth, drawing on the views of academic and policy panels formed of leading economists, economic historians, and policy makers.
