The Architecture team at King’s, working from within the Information Technology Department, aims to use to Enterprise Architecture techniques and tools to add value and help deliver the King’s vision.

About the role:

As part of our ambitious digital and data transformations, we are looking to recruit a Business Architecture within our IT Solutions function, working with our wider Architecture community, and accountable for proactively and holistically scoping and supporting the delivery of Vision 2029 and Strategy 2026 (soon to be Strategy 2030).

You will work organisation-wide with key stakeholders to realise our future-state business capabilities, designing and testing operating models, organisation options, business models, services, products and roadmaps that are aligned with King’s strategic goals.

You will be responsible for taking a practical approach to supporting leaders across the King’s community which includes a 10,000 strong workforce, 37,000 students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, short course and lifelong learners, and an extensive research partner and funder ecosystem around the world within a complex organisation with annual revenue exceeding £1 billion.

This is a full-time position and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1.      Bachelor's degree in business, management, computer science, engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent commercial experience 

2.      Demonstrable knowledge of business architecture principles and processes, including vision development, strategic planning and change management 

3.      Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, data models, cost-benefit analysis and risk management 

4.      Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks 

5.      Experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis 

6.      Industry experience in at least three disciplines of product development, such as role definition, process analysis, information identification and analysis, data management or operations in a complex environment 

7.      Understanding of how to navigate obstacles and decision making in a university or other large multinational organisation 

8.      Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills

Desirable criteria

1.      Experience of conceptual development and testing of prototype products and services 

2.      Technical or business architectural certifications (current) 

3.      Experience of implementing enabling organisational architecture for AI 

4.      Demonstrable knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
