The Global Student Recruitment and Admissions directorate delivers marketing, student recruitment and admissions services in partnership with Faculties, creating strategies to attract growing numbers of students from across global markets, as well as from the UK.
As a directorate we are responsible for the delivery of student recruitment targets, ensuring cohesive recruitment strategies and planning from lead generations and attraction, admissions, through to conversion and enrollment.
About the role
The Student Market Research, Insights & Planning team play a critical role in providing data and insights related to the student journey to enable the development of strategies to achieve the university’s student recruitment targets.
Reporting to the Director of Student Market Research, Insights & Planning the Head of Student Recruitment Data & Analysis will be operationally responsible for the delivery of an effective and efficient data and analysis service.
The role will lead and manage a team of Student Data Officers responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of data related to student recruitment and the student journey through the marketing funnel.
The role will set and monitor service standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and timely data reporting and analysis, driving a culture of continuous improvement that pre-empts and meets the needs of stakeholders.
Using technical expertise, the role will collaborate across the directorate to support with developing and implementing data strategies and initiatives to support the achievement of student attraction, recruitment and conversion targets.
This is a full time post and will be offered on an indefinite contract
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business Analytics, Marketing or related field; Masters preferred
- Proven experience in data analysis, management and reporting with strong attention to data
- Experience data imports, export and CRM data maintenance related activities with such products as Dynamics, Salesforce, SITS etc.
- Experience utilising data transformation and analysis tools and software (e.g. Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Google Analytics)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with understanding of practical application in a complex multi stakeholder environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, networking and influencing skills, with a high level of presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently with colleagues of all levels.
- Proven experience of contributing to and implementing data-driven strategy.
- Evidenced ability to lead, manage and coach a team.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within the Higher Education sector.
- Experience of Agile project management methodologies
- Understanding of GDPR and marketing data governance and compliance principals
