The Global Student Recruitment and Admissions directorate delivers marketing, student recruitment and admissions services in partnership with Faculties, creating strategies to attract growing numbers of students from across global markets, as well as from the UK.

As a directorate we are responsible for the delivery of student recruitment targets, ensuring cohesive recruitment strategies and planning from lead generations and attraction, admissions, through to conversion and enrollment.

About the role

The Student Marketing and Communications team are responsible for ensuring high-quality and impactful communications with prospective students to support the university’s student recruitment targets. The Email Officer is responsible for the effective planning, creation and delivery of email campaigns to support the student recruitment journey.

The role will work collaboratively across the Global Student Recruitment and Admissions team to ensure email plans and campaigns are aligned to student recruitment, attraction and marketing goals.

You will work proactively to implement best practice to enhance email deliverability and engagement rates, identifying opportunity for improving campaign performance and effectiveness.

This is a full time post and will be offered on an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:  

 Essential criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field; and/or proven experience in email marketing and campaign management
  2. Proven experience utilising email marketing tools and software (e.g., Mailchimp, Hubspot)
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  6. Ability to create engaging and visually appealing email content.
  7. Proactive with the ability to take initiative to identify and implement process improvements.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience working within the Higher Education sector.
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics
  3. Understanding of marketing communications channels & how they can be utilised
  4. Ability to work in a team and collaborate on projects
