The Global Student Recruitment and Admissions directorate delivers marketing, student recruitment and admissions services in partnership with Faculties, creating strategies to attract growing numbers of students from across global markets, as well as from the UK.

As a directorate we are responsible for the delivery of student recruitment targets, ensuring cohesive recruitment strategies and planning from lead generations and attraction, admissions, through to conversion and enrolment. 

About the role 

The UK & International Student Recruitment team are our market experts delivering student recruitment and marketing activities to support the achieve the university’s student recruitment targets. The Head of Country/Region Student Recruitment will use excellent knowledge of their assigned country/region to lead the delivery of student attraction and recruitment efforts of prospective students in market. This role will be responsible for student recruitment in the UK.

The Head of Country/Region Student Recruitment will be responsible for the development and implementation of student recruitment strategies within the assigned country/region. The strategies will be developed using excellent and up-to-date knowledge of the market and will align to the university’s overall recruitment targets.

The role will manage a team of student recruitment manager/officers and oversee the delivery of attraction and recruitment activity within the country/region.

The role will build and maintain relationships across a wide stakeholder community, engaging with colleagues in faculties and the wider Global Student Recruitment and Admissions team, supporting the achievement recruitment targets and enhancing the university’s presence in the assigned region.

Regular travel is required.

This is a full time post and will be offered on an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Masters preferred.
  2. Experience leading and developing a student recruitment/ marketing team
  3. Experience leading projects with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion within budget.
  4. Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends and use findings to inform strategy and initiatives.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships and convey complex/specialised information clearly.
  6. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  7. Strong IT skills to support development of data-driven strategies e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI, CRM systems and data visualisation tools.
  8. Proven ability to lead and manage a team.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience of Agile project management methodologies
  2. Experience working within Higher Education
  3. Understanding of GDPR and marketing data governance and compliance principles
