About Us
The Senior Lecturer in Medical Education is a CCT holder in a medical specialty with expertise both in Interprofessional education and the development of educators. This role, designed to run alongside clinical practice will have multiple facets.
About The Role
Primarily, they will lead the Centre for Teams-Based Learning and Practice, reporting to the Dean of Medical Education. Through this they will lead the continual improvement and implementation of Interprofessional
Education at Kings, working with colleagues in the four health faculties and responsible for supervision of a medical education fellow.
The postholder will also contribute significantly to the design, content, delivery (where appropriate), assessment, and Quality Assurance of a new executive-style Certificate, Diploma and Masters in Clinical Education (MACE), reporting to the Programme Lead. Through this, they will work to support the faculty development of our worldwide educational partnerships. In alignment with this work, the post holder will also contribute to design, delivery, assessment, and quality assurance of aspects of the existing Clinical Education programme, as appropriate.
This is a part time post (24 hours per week, likely with some variability in the shape of this), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract for 5 years in the first instance.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration with valid license to practice, Certificate of Completion of Training (i.e. on the medical specialist or general practice register) with active Participation in CPD and associated NHS or academic appraisal
- PhD qualified in relevant subject area relevant to medical education. FHEA or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of undergraduate medical education and skills in quality assurance of medical programmes
- Knowledge, skills and experience in delivering interprofessional education
- Knowledge, skills and experience in the development of others, including through the provision of constructive feedback to a variety of learners
- Undertaking pedagogical research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting one’s research to appropriate groups. Navigating educational complexities across multiple education programmes
- Ability to work wide range of clinical and academic colleagues, both for the undergraduate and interprofessional paradigm
- Ability to understand and work within the College regulations (or partnership Memoranda of Agreement)

- Working with educators from a variety of global backgrounds
- Experience in leading and managing a team
