The Campus Operations department are widely seen as the custodians of our buildings and are actively involved in all areas of our building services across the board.

About the Role

As a Senior Facilities Assistant, you will:

  • Support the Facilities Team Leader in managing and guiding Facilities Assistants across Strand Campus.
  • Work closely with Managers on Duty and the King’s Venues team to ensure the successful delivery of college events, including external functions and VIP visits.
  • Actively contribute to the running of the campus postal service.
  • Ensure all facilities operations are aligned with the Estates & Facilities Fit for King’s commitments.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Good oral & written communication skills
  2. Demonstrable ability to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction
  3. Experience in scheduling, co-ordination, planning and prioritisation of own workload and that of others
  4. Computer literate, with knowledge of all Microsoft operating systems, Word, Excel etc.
  5. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, handling stressful situations with a clear and level-headed approach
  6. Experience of delivering to SLAs and KPIs
  7. Professional and positive approach to work
  8. Self-motivated and good organiser, with a meticulous eye for detail

Desirable criteria

  1. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, including grades A* - C in Maths and English
  2. Line management skills
  3. A H&S qualification, preferably with IOSH/NEBOSH.
  4. Familiarity with working in the Higher Education Sector
