About the role

The School of Education, Communication and Society are looking for a Senior Programme Officer to join our education team supporting teaching across the School.
The Senior Programme Officer will act as a first point of contact for students and academic staff, providing a professional, supportive, responsive and personable service. The role organises support for processes across the whole academic cycle, ensuring accurate and timely record management across multiple systems. The role holder is responsible for resolving complex day-to-day issues, responding in line with university Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). It would be a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for supporting the delivery of excellent education from the heart of London.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until 18/12/2026.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence autonomously to a broad range of audiences.
2. Proficient in numerical analysis, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy when handling complex data, employing a data-driven decision-making approach.
3. Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
4. Proven experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
5. Excellent time management and organisational skills, adept at meeting tight deadlines and managing competing priorities, with a willingness to seek and utilise support as needed.
6. Customer service experience, coupled with the ability to address complaints and service issues efficiently and professionally.
7. Ability to solve operational problems, bringing a proactive and reflective approach to programme administration and possessing the capability to work autonomously.
8. Experience collaborating effectively within a diverse team.
Desirable criteria
1. Demonstrated programme administration experience, preferably gained within a Higher Education context.
2. Experience of line management
3. Experience in the use of databases and student records systems (such as SITS) to provide management information data to a high level of detail and accuracy
