The Engineering Team at King’s College London is responsible for all reactive, planned and statutory maintenance for all campuses. The Engineering Asset Manager will sit within the Engineering Services Team who manage asset, reactive and planned maintenance data.
About the role
We are looking for an Asset Manager with expertise in maintenance and asset validation to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting asset surveys, validating asset information, utilising the CAFM system, and ensuring compliance with SFG20 maintenance guidelines.
This role will operate across multiple sites, working closely with the engineering team to identify and manage assets. It is predominantly site-based, requiring a technical hands-on approach, with some desk-based responsibilities.
You will also support the creation and management of maintenance schedules, drive the accuracy of asset registers, and work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality asset management solutions.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Proven experience as an Asset Manager or similar role with a focus in planned maintenance and asset validation
- Strong expertise in CAFM systems (ideally Planon) for managing asset documentation, and performance data
- Good understanding of SFG20
- Experience in validating asset data through inspections, ensuring alignment with CAFM records
- Knowledge of building systems, asset life cycle management and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams
- Good understanding of compliance, health and safety standards and environmental considerations
Desirable criteria
- Relevant qualifications in asset management, facilities management or a related field
- Familiarity with maintenance standards or frameworks such as ISO
- Experience working across a range of building types including residential and medical
