About the role:

The post holder will manage all business services for King’s Catering & Events, working with the Associate Director of Catering and Events to drive the departments ambitious financial, compliance, audit, software optimisation, data analysis and effective administration targets. They will work with other business focused departments across the organisation to ensure a holistic approach is taken to the success of the department. The position requires strong relationship building with King’s Food and King’s Venues, particularly the heads of each department to ensure aligned departmental goals and strategies. This role demands a proactive, strategic thinker who can balance operational excellence with innovation and compliance to drive the department’s success.

The Strategic Direction within King’s Catering & Events is focused on ensuring that the department significantly enhances the experience of students and wider stakeholders. The post holder will be expected to contribute innovative ideas that support the department’s drive for service excellence, financial sustainability and strategic growth. A key responsibility is to develop and implement 3-year business development strategies that identify and create new community focused and commercial opportunities. This will involve close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that services align with the strategic goals of the wider organisation. You will ensure the effective delivery of joined up business services across the whole department, whilst demonstrating a culture of excellence in every aspect of the role. 

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1.       Catering Operations Qualifications or Relevant Demonstratable Experience. 

2.      Adaptable to changing circumstances and unforeseen situations.

3.      Experience in both internal and external auditing, identifying concerns and creating solutions.

4.      Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills.

5.      Ability to prioritise work effectively under own motivation to achieve short-, medium- and long-term objectives, collaboratively when required.

6.      Experience of collaborative working, developing and managing relationships.

7.      Strong ability to Mentor, Coach and/or Manage as required and recognise the difference.

8.      Experience of collaborative working, developing and managing relationships.

Desirable criteria

1.      Meticulous attention to detail

2.      Experience in managing high level finance accounts

3.      IT skills across Microsoft office

4.      Excellent time management and prioritisation
