About us:
The Transformation Management Office (TMO) Manager role is a key role within the Transformation Office at King’s College London and reports into the Head of Transformation Portfolio.
The Transformation Office supports the senior leadership of the University in effective strategy execution, delivering a complex set of transformation initiatives and driving sustainable improvements to our core business.
The Transformation Management Office (TMO) supports the delivery process including governance, tracking and monitoring, reporting, prioritisation, resource allocation, communication and quality controls.
About the role:
As a TMO Manager you will be part of a team working within the Transformation Management Office, supporting the Head of Transformation Portfolio and managing TMO Support Officers working across all projects and programmes that are part of the transformation portfolio, providing day to day support for projects and the project and programme teams.
A key aspect of the role will be developing team competences to support the continuous improvement of PMO practices by driving, participating, leading and implementing cross-PMO enhancement projects, lessons learned processes and identifying trends and areas for improvement.
You will help drive effective decision making on all levels as a trusted advisor of the Head of Transformation Portfolio and implement and enhance project and programme standards and processes - related to project and programme planning, reporting, change control, financial management, risk management and quality assurance.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week) and you will be offered an indefinite contract. We support hybrid working with a current requirement to be on campus three days per week.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Education to degree standard and/or equivalent qualifications/experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a PM(O) expert or practical experience as a project manager in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent organisational skills
- Project based qualifications/training
- Experience of setting quality standards for either Portfolio, Programme or Project Delivery
- Experience of managing a team including performance management and development of team members
- Self-starter and proactive, with ability to work on own initiative
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in an education setting
