Research Aims

The main focus of our research is the genetic basis of psoriasis, an immune-mediated skin disorder which we study as a readily accessible model of inflammation.

We are particularly interested in the characterization of mutations underlying severe monogenic subtypes of the disease (e.g. generalised pustular psoriasis), but are also involved in the genetic analysis of susceptibility regions associated with common psoriasis. We carry out both gene identification and functional studies (transcriptomics, ex-vivo analysis of patient cells, in-vitro assays), as we believe that this integrated approach has unique potential to provide novel insights into the pathogenesis of the disease
