Final year French students have highlighted the department’s teaching, assessment and academic support in the 2016 National Student Survey.

100% of students say staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching, while 92% agree that staff are good at explaining things, have made the subject interesting and that the course is intellectually stimulating.

82% say marking criteria has been made clear in advance and that they have received detailed comments on their work. 96% of students say they have been able to contact staff when they need to and 92% agree that the library resources and service are good enough for their needs.

Overall satisfaction with teaching is 94%.
