95% of Philosophy students are satisfied with their teaching according to 2016 NSS results

Final year Philosophy students have reported high levels of satisfaction with the teaching on their course in the 2016 National Student Survey.

97% of students say staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching and the course is intellectually stimulating – a rise of 5% on last year. 96% of students agree that staff are good at explaining things.

91% have been able to contact staff when they need to and 81% say they feel more confident in tackling unfamiliar problems as a result of the course.

80% say their communication skills have improved.

The department will be working with Philosophy students over the coming months to build on these results and get students' ideas for how we can continue to improve your experiences studying with us. Thank you for your feedback.
