AADOCR Symposium Honouring Professor Dianne Rekow
The American Association for Dental, Oral & Craniofacial Research held a symposium in honour of former FoDOCS Executive Dean, Professor Dianne Rekow, who sadly passed away last year.
Emeritus Professor Rekow was Executive Dean at the faculty from 2012 – 2016. A symposium at the 52nd AADOCR meeting held in Portland Oregon in March this year, celebrated Professor Rekow’s book “Digital Dentistry”, a subject she was passionate about.
Said Professor Tim Watson, who attended the symposium:
“The symposium contained presentations, mostly by authors in Prof. Rekow’s book, that emphasized the diversity of uses of the digital sciences in dental imaging, diagnostics, manufacturing, education and oral health care. It is with great pride and respect that this symposium on the advances in digital dentistry was dedicated to the memory of our colleague, Prof. E. Dianne Rekow.”
Professor Watson delivered a lecture on Novel Strategies for Imaging in Enodontic Treatment focussed on optical methods for bacterial detection in root canals and imaging different root canal preparation instruments at work.
