On 14 July, Adele van Wyk, who is a researcher at the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce, was awarded her PhD. The title of her thesis was 'The experiences of people with dementia and their care partners: Voices from an ethnically diverse sample in the Eden District of South Africa'. Her degree was made possible by a full scholarship from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom and she was hosted by the School of Health in Social Science at the University of Edinburgh.

Adele is a Research Associate at the Policy Research Unit at King's thanks to an Early Career Development Award from the NIHR School for Social Care Research, on the dementia stream.

Adele recently blogged for the Unit about decolonising research methods and knowledge.
