At the Joint Social Work Education Conference
This year's conference took place in Leeds on 23 and 24 June
At this year's JSWEC conference, Emily Thomas presented findings from the Unit’s study into Care Act ‘easements’, run by Mary Baginsky and Jill Manthorpe, and advised on by Joan Rapaport. The presentation focused on the way easements were used and how they were avoided by local authorities who did not adopt the measures. There was interest in the use of coproduction with local people to generate an emergency response which felt fair to disabled and older people accessing social care.
Online, Jess Harris spoke about emerging findings from the NIHR SSCR study on homelessness and self-neglect.
