The English Department is delighted to announce the annual ‘Cosmo Davenport-Hines Poetry Prize’. The prize honours English student Cosmo who died in June 2008 while still a student in the Department. It seeks to remember his creativity and his love of words.

This year, we invite submissions of poems of no more than 40 lines, on the theme of AIR.

You may interpret the theme in any way you wish. The poem must be written in English; all poetic forms are welcome.

The winner will receive a prize of £200 plus publication in Wild Court: an international poetry journal based at King’s. Two runners-up will each receive £50. The winners will be invited to read their poems in the summer term at a departmental celebration to mark the end of the academic year (date to be announced).
