King’s Maths School was founded in 2014 as a free school sixth form, specialising in mathematics and sponsored by King’s College London.

King’s Maths School is for students with a particular aptitude and enthusiasm for mathematics, and aims to widen participation in mathematical degrees and careers at the very best universities and institutions.

40 per cent of King’s Maths School’s intake come from financially challenging backgrounds. The 2018 intake is 47 per cent female, substantially challenging the under-representation of women in STEM.

The achievements of the King’s Maths School include:

• 100 per cent A* and A grades in Mathematics in 2016, and the best A Level results for any school in the country in 2017

• Judged as Outstanding in all categories and Outstanding overall by Ofsted
