Thirty-eight participants attended the Day Centre Research Forum on Thursday 23 June, via Zoom. Delegates included staff from local authorities (mainly commissioners, operations/day centre managers, social workers) and the NHS, charitable and private day centre providing organisations, university staff and students, people from national and local groups or good practice organisations, and a government department.

Ray Baird, Chief Executive Officer of Braid Health and Wellbeing Ltd in Scotland shared a detailed ‘warts and all’ account of modernising and redesigning his organisation’s dementia day centre. Many participants commented on how useful the session was. His presentation and text can be found here.

The Day Centre Research Forum, organised by the ARC South London social care theme, funded by the NIHR and based at the NIHR Health & Social Care Workforce Research Unit, King’s College London, is held twice yearly in January and June and can be attended in person or online. The forum connects people who work, research or are interested in day services.
