Dental Institute grad Luisa Ramirez wins BDA John McLean Prize

Young dentist Luisa Ramirez (pictured right), a graduate from King's College London Dental Institute has been awarded the prestigious John McLean Prize.

The BDA's John McLean Prize is awarded to the best poster case presentation of a patient's treatment, which requires a multidisciplinary approach. The Prize is open to undergraduates from London's two Dental Schools, who are in their final year.

Luisa graduated from King's College London in 2016, and presented her finals case to the BDA for the Prize.

Her case was a high-caries risk patient with a complex medical and social history. She demonstrated the preventative and stabilisation phases of treatment, followed by the planning and provision of an upper cobalt chrome denture and lower distal cantilever resin-bonded bridges.
