Dr Stacey Gutkowski, from the Department of War Studies and founding Co-Director of Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network, organised their 5th biennual Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network conference titled 'Worldviews in Worldview: Particularizing Secularism, Secularity and Nonreligion'

The conference was held at King’s 5-6th July 2018. Supported by the King’s Worldwide Partnership Fund, the conference brought together participants from 44 universities around the world to address the nuance, complexities, and contradictions of secular ways of life in the Middle East, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Europe and North America.

Keynote address by Dr Samuli Schielke (ZMO), Secular Powers and Heretic Undercurrents in a God-fearing Part of the World, drawing on his ethnographic work in Egypt, was published by Allegralab in December 2018. The transcript is available here.
