The school won an EFMD Excellence in Practice Silver Award for the programme it developed in partnership with the Education and Training Foundation and ChangeSchool.

The goal was to support and empower leaders in Further Education Colleges to navigate the new demands on staff, curriculum design, relationships with employers and on students that accompanied the introduction of the new T-Level qualification in 2020.

The team developed and delivered a long-term programme combining residential and online elements with an emphasis on emotional leadership skills and shared problem-solving. At a national scale, it reached 658 participants, who reported increased confidence in their ability to deliver the new qualification successfully.

This is the Business School’s second EFMD Excellence in Practice Silver Award; in 2023 it was recognised for its programme for the Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

The King’s Business School T Level Professional Development Programme team was led by Dr Tim Sellick, Director of Custom Programmes, alongside Dr Craig Robinson (programme director), Professor Dana Minbaeva, Professor Kirk Plangger, Steve Laurie and Tiffany McCrea with colleagues at ChangeSchool and the Education and Training Foundation.

King’s Business School’s Professor Alison Wolf has been a strong influence on vocational education policy, and was a member of the Sainsbury Review which led to the creation of T-levels.
