This update came into force on the 31st of December 2014 and incorporates some 400 changes as a result of decisions made by the various multilateral export control regimes in 2011, 2012 & 2013. These changes include the addition of new controls, removal of some controls, changes to certain technical parameters and other amendments.

Changes include (but are not limited to):

  • Changes to the technical parameters for nuclear reactor parts and components
  • New controls on certain chemicals
  • New controls on special materials, electronics, information security equipment, lasers, and aerospace equipment
  • The changes also remove some previously controlled items and technologies that have become widely available and have been deemed to present a low security risk.

Further information on how these changes might affect businesses can be found here.
