Enchia Tsai global winner for developing psychobiotics to support mental health

Enchia Tsai graduated from King’s College London’s MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health in 2024. She previously completed an MSc in Social and Public Communication at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2013.

Enchia is from Taiwan and is advancing global mental health through scientific innovation. As co-founder of Bened Biomedical, she develops pioneering psychobiotics targeting the gut-brain axis, providing natural, non-invasive solutions for individuals with neurological and mental health challenges, including the neurodivergent community. Her work offers hope for improved emotional and neurological well-being worldwide.

In addition to her work in biotechnology, Enchia serves on the board of the Taipei Women's Rescue Foundation, where she advocates for gender equity and supports survivors of domestic and digital sexual violence.

She was awarded the Study UK ‘Business and Innovation Award’ which recognises alumni who are active in initiating and contributing to innovative or creative new ideas, solutions or business opportunities, that have the potential for growth.

As a global Alumni Award winner, Enchia will be invited to visit the UK for professional networking in early 2026.

Winning this award reflects not just my work, but the values I carried from King’s — the courage to face difficult topics, and the inspiration that comes from learning alongside the brightest minds. Studying at King’s gave me the confidence to aim high and push forward globally. At Bened Biomedical, we are building on that foundation to redefine how the technology of psychobiotic can transform mental and neurological health around the world.
