Gapper Postgraduate Essay success in the Department of French
Congratulations to former MA student in the Department of French, Matthew Siôn Lampitt, is the winner of the Society for French Studies' 2015 R. H. Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize
We are pleased to announce that a former MA student in the Department of French, Matthew Siôn Lampitt, is the winner of the Society for French Studies' 2015 R. H. Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize for an essay titled On the Use of, and Responses to, Troubadour Lyric in the work of Julia Kristeva.
The R. Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize includes an award of £750 and expenses-paid travel to the Annual Conference of the Society, to be hosted this year by the University of Cardiff from 29 June to 1 July. Gillian Ni Cheallaigh, currently a fixed-term Lecturer in French at King's, was the runner-up for the prize, for an essay titled ‘Bad Mothers, Mad Sisters and Queer Maternity in the work of Linda Lê’.
