My aunt, Fong, turns 63 today, did the 5k with me in a colourful top she knitted just in time for the Great King's Run!

Runners had the choice to run whenever they wanted throughout the day but they had a few things along the way to make sure they felt connected to their fellow staff and students; A warm up via Zoom with the contagiously energetic Arral to kick off the day, a challenge on King's Move to motivate them, a specially made Spotify playlist to keep them going and the Reggie Snapchat filter to entertain them along the way. Runners were asked to take selfies along the route in colourful clothing with all entries making up our special Great King's Run collage.

£720 was raised to support the great work of Guys and St Thomas’s and Evelina in the fight against Covid-19. This takes the total raised by the King's Sport community to over £3000. If you’d like to make a donation please visit this link.

Thanks for motivating me to do something!  I haven’t been for a proper run for years, but I signed up, ordered myself some new running shoes, and got out there. Will run more now

The runners really showed the connection among the King's community, their generosity and passion for an active lifestyle. Thank you to everyone that took part.

This is just one way that King’s students, staff and alumni are continuing to support their local communities, and each other, during Covid-19.

#ContinuingToServe is a university-wide approach to bringing together, strengthening and celebrating the many ways in which King’s people are making a difference, wherever they may be, fulfilling our purpose as a civic university that serves the world.
