How did social worker regulation come about?
A witness seminar from the Supporting Adult Social Care Innovation Project

This second witness seminar as part of the Supporting Adult Social Care Innovation (SASCI) programme attracted an international audience of over 50 participants. It was presented in association with the Commonwealth Organisation for Social Work. Speakers included Dr David Jones, Chair of the Social Work History Network and former General Secretary of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW); Daphne Statham, former Director of the National Institute for Social Work; Jennifer Bernard former chief executive at the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work (CCETSW); and Professor Aidan Worsley from the University of Central Lancashire. The seminar was chaired by Dr Lisa Trigg who leads the Research, Data and Innovation team at Social Care Wales.
This was the second in a series of three witness seminars being organised by the Supporting Adult Social Care Innovation Project (SASCI), led from the LSE, and involving Jill Manthorpe and Carl Purcell from the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce at King's.
