The Global Network Programme, an initiative led by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), aims to foster partnerships between the UK government and leading figures in business, academia and public life as they navigate a world of changing geopolitical dynamics.

Representatives from UK partner countries will also join the initiative.

The launch was held at Lancaster House on 6 October. Attending from King’s were Dr Joseph Baines, Dr Olivia Cheung, Dr Chase Foster and Professor Ramon Pacheco Pardo, from the Department of European and International Studies.

Providing welcome remarks, Permanent Secretary Olly Robbins said that there was no division between domestic and foreign affairs in today's world and, therefore, all government departments needed to understand how global developments affected their work.

Prof Pacheco Pardo said: “Working with and supporting the activities of the FCDO and the UK government at large is a priority for King's. We very much welcome the opportunity to engage with the Global Network Programme, an excellent initiative.”
