King's Dentistry Strengthens Ties with Ivoclar at Global Headquarters Visit
In December 2024, Professor Michael Escudier (Executive Dental Dean) and Bill Sharpling (Associate Dean for CPD and Director of LonDEC) visited the global headquarters of Ivoclar Vivadent AG in Schaan, Liechtenstein. The visit reinforced the growing relationship between King’s College London and Ivoclar, one of the world’s leading dental companies.

Hosted by CEO Markus Heinz and Head of Universities Tatiana Repetto-Bauckhage, the visit included a guided tour of the state-of-the-art Ivoclar Experience World and productive discussions on future collaboration opportunities. A key outcome of the visit was the formal signing of contracts that mark a significant step forward in two areas:
- Support for Global CPD: Ivoclar’s backing of DentAlliance’s continuing professional development programmes across key international regions.
- Undergraduate Education: King’s commitment to supporting the Ivoclar Summer School initiative, which brings together dental students from around the world for a week of immersive learning.
Further cementing this collaboration, a group of King’s dentistry faculty members has since returned to Schaan to undergo preparatory training for the upcoming Ivoclar Summer School, scheduled to be hosted at FoDOCS in July 2025.
This visit reflects the Faculty’s strategic aim to deepen global industry engagement and broaden opportunities for students and staff through innovation, education, and international cooperation.
