Awais attended the groundbreaking educational event at the United Nations (UN) in New York City, as the CEO of the Pakistan Student Union, Desi Student Union and Arab Students Union.

With his involvement under the banner of the International Youth Organisation UN, Awais and other young speakers gathered to discuss ways to further promote youth education globally, with a focus on improved education systems in developing nations.

The King’s Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) undergraduate student is passionate about these causes. During his visit, Awais had the privilege of sharing his expertise and insights and contributing to the development of strategic policies to help support the mission of improved youth education worldwide.

As a dedicated member of the "Leaders of Tomorrow”, a group of exceptional young leaders with a shared vision for positive change, Awais hopes to participate in future events held in London or Geneva. His inspiring journey continues to serve as a testament to the importance of education, and the invaluable contributions of young ambassadors like himself towards leveraging sustainable development on a global scale.

“As an organisation we believe academia is important, but the extracurricular activities alongside academia can be transformative. Organisations such as Facebook have come out of university dorms, and universities could support student growth in such areas,” he explains.

"It's certainly a surreal and humbling experience to be sat with such academics. I'm grateful for being able to be a part of shaping the future for the up-and-coming generations.”

The conference aimed to explore the nexus between youth, education, and research. It was co-chaired by Ambassador and Permanent Representative, H.E. M.r Karlito Nunes of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, with Ambassador and Permanent Observer, H.E. M.r Daniel del Valle Blanco and Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Observer, HE. Dr. Otto von Feigenblatt of the International Youth Organization to the United Nations.
