The funding will support the creation of INKLUDE: Inclusion as a Norm at King’s – Leadership, Understanding the issues, Developing individuals, Enacting change.

INKLUDE, which will be led by members of King’s community, will test innovative ways to tackle the systemic barriers experienced by underrepresented groups across Higher Education in the UK through a top-down and bottom-up approach, as well as improved mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating ongoing policies and practices.

INKLUDE will build on existing successes and lay the groundwork for tackling these barriers by bringing together key senior management teams as well as members of both Professional Services (PS) and academic/research staff. It aims to enable the development of cross-cutting solutions to the issues brought about by systemic barriers for underrepresented individuals in higher education and to develop shareable tools and approaches for PS teams and faculties.

The project will co-create and test new approaches of improved practices, policies and processes as well as joint working between PS and faculties, and develop new shared tools to make data and insights more accessible, meaningful, and usable for King’s communities. This will enhance the community's understanding of how inclusive policies and practices can support people’s careers, personal lives and wellbeing.
