King's school of dentistry rated second in the world

King’s College London is the second best place in the world to study dentistry, according to the 2018 QS Rankings by Subject released today.

King’s College London is the second best place in the world to study dentistry, according to the 2018 QS Rankings by Subject released today.

Second only to the University of Hong Kong on a global scale, the  Dental Institute at King’s also retains its position as the top school for Dentistry in the UK and Europe.

Executive Dean of the Dental Institute, Professor Mike Curtis said: ‘Maintaining our position as the top school in Europe but also rising to second in the world in the global rankings reaffirms our position as a world-class institution and reflects the dedication, commitment and innovation of our academic and professional staff, our students, and our alumni.’

Other subjects at King’s also fared well in the rankings with  Nursing remaining in the top five in the world and  MedicineHistory, and  Law all appearing in the top 20.

Overall, King’s has improved its ranking in four broad subject areas - Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, and Social Sciences & Management.

The QS Rankings by Subject highlight the world’s top universities across 48 different subjects. Institutions are assessed on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, and impact of publications to give an overall score.
