The Geography BA and Geography BSc programmes have been accredited by the Royal Geography Society (with IBG). The accreditation reflects the programmes’ ability to provide a solid academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills, while preparing graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education.

The two Geography undergraduate programmes enable students to examine some of the key issues facing the world today, including sustainability, global inequality, urban regeneration and gentrification, as well as the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on society.

Students gain advanced analytical and technical skills that can be applied to understanding a range of real-world issues through a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials. They also participate in workshops, laboratory sessions and international field trips.

We are delighted that our BA and BSc programmes have been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with the IBG). Their accredited degree programmes recognise an exemplary academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills that prepare graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education. The accreditation criteria recognise defined sets of learning outcomes, including subject knowledge, technical ability and transferable skills. These have helped our students attain one of the highest graduate employment rates of any programme in the UK.
