National Student Survey 2017: Dental Institute achieves 96.4% overall satisfaction

The Dental Institute has scored 96.4% overall satisfaction in the 2017 National Student Survey. This impressive 8% rise on the 2016 results showcases the high standard of education provided by the faculty.

“Delivering an exceptional student experience is a high priority for all of King’s. We at the Dental Institute are exemplars at this, with a consistent record of excellent student engagement. Our clinical, academic and professional services staff should be proud of the service we deliver to our students; providing them a world-class education while studying with us. Our hospital partners, GSTT and KCH, play an integral part in the education of our students and we are privileged to have them as partners.” says Professor Michael Escudier, Interim Dean for Education at the Dental Institute.

An area where the Dental Institute has made great improvements is in Assessment and Feedback. “As a response to suggestions from the previous year, the assessment team worked collaboratively with our student body to improve processes and ensure feedback is prompt and helpful,” explains Professor Escudier. “To have risen by 11 points in the Assessment and Feedback section is testimony to the hard work and dedication the team have put into this area.”

“During the 2016-2017 academic year we also enjoyed a highly productive and forward looking relationship with the student body, both collectively and through its representatives in the Dental Student Council and the Dental Society. This relationship has facilitated co-creation of initiatives to underpin our transformation,” concludes Professor Escudier.

King’s College London’s Dental Institute is part of one of the most comprehensive academic health science centres in Europe and one of the top dental schools in the world. Recently ranked fourth globally for dentistry (QS World University Rankings 2017), the National Student Survey results confirm our reputation for exceptional education programmes. With highly skilled teachers and supervisors, and state-of-the-art facilities, students have unrivalled clinical experience through access to the vast and diverse patient populations of Guy’s, St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospitals.
