New Head of Department for Informatics

Professor Luc Moreau has been appointed as the new Head of the Department of Informatics from 1 August, taking over from Professor Luca Vigano.

Dr Moreau was previously Professor of Computer Science and Head of the Web and Internet Science group (WAIS) in the department ECS-Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton.

Luc said of his appointment: "It is a great privilege to be joining King’s College London and become Head of Informatics. I look forward to leading the department to the next stage of its development."

Luc is also on the editorial board of "ACM Transactions on Internet Technology" and before that, he was editor-in-chief of the journal Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience.

Luc co-chaired of the W3C Provenance Working Group that produced the PROV Recommendations, and he initiated the successful Provenance Challenge series, which resulted in the specification of the community Open Provenance Model (OPM).

Luc’s research interests include: Data Provenance, Distributed Systems, Service Oriented Architectures, and Distributed Algorithms. His investigation covers the spectrum of software engineering: design, specification, proof of correctness, implementation, performance evaluation and application.
