The event, which took place on 11 March in Bush House, saw students and staff members come together to celebrate the merits of amazing individuals.

From the Academic Staff Award and Outstanding Student Achievement to the GTA Award and Student Community prize, many were the categories for which members of the school were nominated.

There was plenty of competition for some awards with long lists of nominees. The Professional Services Staff Award had no less than 19 candidates, with the award ultimately going to Joe Allen, while the Academic Staff award had 15 nominees, with Dr Keith Smith taking home the prize.

Award-winners were greeted on stage by Professor Peter John, the head of the School of Politics and Economics and host for the evening.

At the end of the ceremony, attendees were able to continue the celebrations by joining the end-of-year drinks, taking place in Bush House.

Prof John said: “The evening was a great occasion for all members of the school to come together and reflect on their academic year. Big ‘thanks’ go to the organisers and sincere congratulations to all winners and nominees of this year’s awards.”
