Paul held the Chair of the History and Philosophy of Religion at King’s College London, 1993-2000, having previously taught at the University of Liverpool. He worked in both philosophy and theology and was a world-leading expert on the thought of John Calvin.   His many publications included: Eternal God (1988; 2010); The Providence of God (1994); Faith & Understanding (1997); John Calvin’s Ideas (2004); Calvin: A Guide for the Perplexed (2008).

Paul Helm was one of our most distinguished academics. As well as an outstanding and highly respected scholar, he was a great colleague, fondly remembered for his kindness and generosity. We extend our condolences to his family.
