Paul Helm (1940-2025)
The Department of Theology and Religious Studies is saddened to learn of the death of Paul Helm, on 29 December 2025.

Paul held the Chair of the History and Philosophy of Religion at King’s College London, 1993-2000, having previously taught at the University of Liverpool. He worked in both philosophy and theology and was a world-leading expert on the thought of John Calvin. His many publications included: Eternal God (1988; 2010); The Providence of God (1994); Faith & Understanding (1997); John Calvin’s Ideas (2004); Calvin: A Guide for the Perplexed (2008).
