Prof Tim Watson Charity Miniature Steam Engine road run

The Dental Institute's Prof Tim Watson will be taking his intrepid miniature steam road locomotive “Frederick” on a unique charity road run through London on Saturday October 28th, raising funds for Parkinson’s UK.

The route will start at Guy’s Hospital at 0930 and tour all the accessible bridges in the Cities of Westminster and London.  They will go past the Tower of London, St Pauls Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall & Westminster.  They will stop at the Evelina Childrens Hospital at St Thomas’  at midday to pick up water and then head to a surprise destination before returning to Guy’s mid-late afternoon.

The distance travelled will be a fraction of their previous St Albans to Brighton, 80 mile, world record-breaking road run in 2015 that has already raised over £6000 for Parkinson’s UK.

However, in this significant challenge they will be traversing the very heart of London with the coal-fired, steam-powered, 1/3rd size Burrell Showman's Road Locomotive.  Come along and give them your support!
