Professor Julie Sanders elected as President-Elect of the European Society of Cardiology Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions

The results of the election were announced during the ACNAP General Assembly on 15 June

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (ACNAP) is the largest international organisation for nurses and allied professionals working in cardiology. Its mission is to promote excellence in cardiovascular nursing and allied professions through practice, education and research.

Professor Julie Sanders is Professor of Cardiovascular Care at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care. She has been an ACNAP Board member for six years, serving as the Secretary Treasurer from 2018 to 2022 and the Science Committee Chair from 2020 to 2024.

It is a huge privilege and responsibility to have been elected as President-Elect by the ACNAP membership.

Julie continues, 'I am very much looking forward to working with Dr Leonie Klompstra (President), Professor Izabella Uchmanowicz (Past-President) and the fabulous ACNAP Board over the next two years to further grow ACNAP to be the first-choice association and primary resource for all cardiovascular nurses and allied professionals across Europe and beyond, irrespective of profession or cardiovascular speciality.’

Julie will start this role on 1 September 2024.
