Professor Matthew Hotopf, Vice Dean of Research at Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and Director of the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) has been awarded a CBE for services to psychiatric research.

Professor Hotopf's research explores the interaction between mental and physical health. He has worked extensively in areas where mental health relates to other walks of life – including military health, mental health law, and epidemiological studies on the impact of mental disorders.  He is an NIHR Senior Investigator and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.

Charles Wolfe, Professor of Public Health Medicine at King’s has been awarded and OBE for services to stroke and public health medicine.

He is currently the King's Health Partners Lead for Public Health and Director of Research and Development at Guy's and St Thomas'. His research addresses epidemiological and health services research questions in stroke including estimating acute and longer term needs, the risk of stroke and chronic disease register methodology; and early supported discharge, secondary prevention, carer support and qualitative studies.

Anne-Marie Canning, Director of Social Mobility and Student Success, has been awarded an MBE for services to higher education.

After spending many years leading innovative widening participation initiatives, Anne-Marie now also has responsibility for student success at King’s and leads on research into what works in social mobility. She is also the independent chair of the Bradford opportunity area, a Department for Education initiative to help the 12 areas of the country that are most challenged in terms of social mobility, and has served as a member of the Universities UK ministerial social mobility advisory group.

Dr David Craig, Honorary Senior Lecturer and Head of Sedation & Special Care Dentistry in the Dental Institute and Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’, has been awarded an MBE for services to dental patients. 

Dr Craig has over 30 years' experience teaching conscious sedation techniques to undergraduate students, dental and medical practitioners and has served on dental and multi-disciplinary groups preparing guidelines for safe sedation practice.

Professor Anthony Pereira, Director of the King's Brazil Institute, has been awarded an MBE for services to UK/Brazil relations.

Professor Pereira’s current work concerns citizenship, human rights, public security, and state coercion in Brazil. This includes a study of the performance of a relatively new human rights institution, the police ombudsman, in two different states in Brazil, as well as an analysis of some recent efforts to reform the police. Pereira has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Brazilian Studies Association (BRASA) and is an occasional commentator for BBC Brazil.
