The ‘Facts and Snacks’ event was a great way to engage with patients about my research and to hear their views on my work. I loved hearing from the patients about their stories as it puts into perspective the important reasons for doing the research.

School hosts Facts and Snacks 2018 event
On Friday 11 May 2018 the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences hosted a Facts and Snacks event in the Innovation Hub at Guy’s Cancer Centre. This public engagement session was organised by the Cancer Studies PhD students and funded by Health Sciences DTC.
The event was opened up to clinical fellows and MRes students, with 10 students presenting their posters to around 30 engaged and enthusiastic patients.
There are plans to run this event again in the future as it is a great learning experience for all involved.
