On Wednesday 2 May post docs and students from the Vascular Biology group and the Rayne Institute within the School of Cardiovascular Medicine & Sciences took part in a 10km Tower of London run to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Collectively both groups managed to raise an astounding £3,430.10 for the cause.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us; financially with donations, physically with organising training days and of course emotionally on the day of the run. We are proud to have been able to raise £1244.99 for the British Heart Foundation on this occasion which we hope has got us all one tiny step closer to helping those suffering from cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular disease is responsible for a quarter of all deaths in the UK, which includes developed conditions such as coronary heart disease and stroke, but also inherited genetic diseases. The BHF funds pioneering research which is vital for the prevention and treatment of heart disease. Read more about the impact of research funded by BHF on heart failure since the 1960s.
