School PhD Student 'Meet & Greet' event
The first student ‘Meet and Greet’ event for the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences took place on 14 September at the Innovation Hub in the Cancer Centre, Guy's Campus.
This successful event was organised by the School student reps as an opportunity for our students to meet fellow postgraduates across the School, get to know the current student reps and hear about what student committees do over some drinks and nibbles.
The event started with a speed-networking session, where everyone got a chance to ask other students what alternative career paths they would have chosen and learn fun facts about them. This was then followed by further networking and a short presentation on the aims and roles of the different student committees. Finally, students had to grab a chocolate bar based on which campus they belonged to and were teamed-up to give feedback on a variety of questions. This generated quite a lot of interesting answers, which will influence future activities from the various committees.
The School meet and greet was a successful event which we plan on running annually.
