Members of the King's community

The ethos of King’s is to try to make the world a better place, going above and beyond what is expected of a university. We are proud of the many ways that our community is fulfilling this vision, especially during the last year.

The Service annual report 2019-20 brings together and celebrates a selection of inspirational projects from across the university that deliver transformative social impact in our local, national and international communities.

The report includes features on the Sanctuary Programme, which contributed to King’s being accredited as the first ‘Refugees Welcome University’ in February 2020, and King’s Civic Leadership Academic, a leadership development and social mobility programme that empowers students to become changemakers.

It also puts a spotlight on research by the Policy Institute that aims to solve society’s challenges with evidence and expertise, includes case studies from King’s Global Health Partnerships’ volunteering scheme and showcases initiatives led by King’s Food to promote environmental sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint.

There are numerous other ways in which King’s serves society and makes a positive difference in the world. Watch this video to discover what Service means to members of the King’s community.
