GoodGym Charity Run

GoodGym comprises a group of runners that combine regular exercise with helping communities across the UK.

In 2018, as part of King’s Global Day of Service, 32 runners met to run whilst doing good – making the most of their lunch break in the sunshine and getting involved in the local community. The runners were split into three groups:

YMCA

The team got involved with sorting through the mounting clothes donations, tidying the shop floor, and pricing donations.

Groundswell

These runners ran 4km around Central London to hand out cards to the homeless, informing them that they can access GP care when they need it, without having to give an address or present ID.

St Luke’s Community Centre

This charity has recently established an edible garden complete with live chickens! The teams job was to sort, clean and reorganise their huge garden shed. It was a longer run, with lots of squatting at the task, so this group definitely had a good workout!
