Spotlight on COVID : COVID-19 is a killer - but I'll be just fine Dr Koula Asimakopoulou, Reader in Health Psychology, and Dr Sasha Scambler, Senior Lecturer in Sociology from King's College London share their research on the relationship between risk perceptions around COVID-19, and how UK adults display a kind of optimism for these risks. Spotlight reporter Laura Shepherd hears about their international survey across 11 countries and 8 languages that looked at people’s risk perceptions around COVID-19, amongst other psychosocial constructs. The team presents their their recently analysed UK data, testing the hypothesis that UK adults display comparative optimism for a range of COVID-19 -related risks.
